Co-Founded by Award-Winning Artists Gemma Land and Ravinder Surah.

We at PANKOW CREATIVES have a long standing relationship through the love of art, one of our first endeavours as a creative partnership bloomed while exhibiting, assisting and creating promotional materials for the Art.Number23 ‘Stimulus’ exhibition at the Greenhouse, Berlin, Germany. This is where the word ‘Pankow’ (the second largest borough residing within the city of Berlin) comes from, we adopted this name while considering a title for our company, since then we’ve had a mutual love for Berlin thus the word Pankow was used for our company and our creative business had begun.

Our company prides itself within the creative industries, fashioning an array of well-designed packages and services such as: Art Direction, Production, Branding, Exhibitions, Graphics, Illustration, Photography and Publishing, all tailored to suit your professional needs.

As an artist-led company we are able to draw upon our artistic practices, providing our clients with a thoughtful and unique approach, providing our clients with strong concepts and visually alluring designs. Gemma Land

Artist, Co-Founder

Gemma Land is a Photographic and Print Artist, graduated from the MA Photography course at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. Working with a contemporary art practice and also with a surface/ fashion design practice.

Her print works on silk combine the processes of contemporary analogue photography and carefully constructed prints. The process she uses is unique, the collections start with the photographs she shoots and are then constructed into the print designs. She creates fractals from architecture and landscapes to create impossible structures and hallucinogenic patterns. Her aesthetic lies between the romantic and the gothic, creating beautiful and yet often somewhat unsettling imagery. Each collection is based on a concept and created with craftsmanship, using the finest digital printing and hand finished with the couture technique of hand rolling. In her photographic practice examines architecture within a socio-political viewpoint.

She is also experimenting in photography with the perception of light, form and identity.Land's work has been published in Russian Vogue, Dazed Digital, AnOther, CoolHunting, InDesign, the Huffington Post, and included in a touring exhibition with New Era.

Ravinder Surah

Artist, Co-Founder

Fine art photographer Ravinder Surah expresses an interesting outlook on the human condition highlighting the ideas of vulnerability and the philosophies of metaphysics, this complex combination amplifies his work to evoke and function on the emotions of the viewer. Surah places great focus on isolating the human from a modern society, bringing nature and humanity together through the modes of physically placing the human with a natural environment but still showing very small details of attachment to an urban civilization humanity would struggle to live without. Focusing on using video and images to display how susceptible we are to the elements surrounding us, Surah also directs emphasis on his own anxieties and personal feelings as stimulation to drive his perplexing work. Surah states ‘Without comfort we fall into the hands of nature which feeds us with life but suddenly could surrender us to our deaths; without security humanity would struggle to exist’.

Placing importance on pushing his work in all directions, Surah primarily focuses on the human condition in directness but also in abstract ways to challenge the viewer’s perceptions and to ultimately provoke thought, leaving the viewer with an array of complex questions that merge with feelings familiar and unknown.
